This winter I took an online course with visionary futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard. I was fascinated to learn of Barbara’s insight that each moment is the culmination of the entire process of evolution. She saw each unfolding moment as the very peak and flowing tip of all that has come before, from the big bang down to right now.

She talked about the importance of noticing and feeling the compass of joy. When you are doing what you love to do, she suggested to try to expand on it. It is possible, she said, to train yourself to flick your attention from the compass of stress to the compass of joy. This resonated for me related to my practices of meditation and drawing the enso circle.
