I was on a camping trip this summer and explaining to a friend how I am always experimenting with my art. One of the things that I like to experiment with is my signature. I normally sign rice paper art with seals but sometimes I feel like I want to shake things up and use a written signature.
I noticed that contemporary Zen artist Kaz Tanahashi signs his art on rice paper using a seal, title, signature, and date. I have received some feedback that people really want to see the seal on my art. What do you think? I like it both ways.
